Sunny Strader is a visual storyteller whose work explores memory, identity, and psychic connection. Her work has appeared at the Singapore International Photography Festival, the Sortland Museum in Norway, House of Lucie in Los Angeles, Contemporary Calgary in Canada, and in several American galleries and publications.
5th Grade Dreams
Since 2018, I have been documenting the adult lives of my fifth-grade classmates. As children, we were labeled as “academically gifted” students, and we were relocated to a program designed to elevate the school district’s academic standing. Over the years, I’ve used point-and-shoot film cameras to capture my classmates living their everyday lives in varying contexts.

Edible Trip to Innerspace
These still life images were created while I was getting sober and white-knuckling my sanity in my 500-square-foot apartment in downtown Los Angeles during the global pandemic. This later work appeared at the Singapore International Photography Festival in 2021, and has been included in my self-published tarot deck, Subconscious Signals.
